Green Justine’s Gardening has been maintaining, renovating, designing, and consulting in  Bay Area residential gardens since 2003. We create and sustain functional and beautiful gardens with a focus on California natives, drought-tolerance and ecologically beneficial and  organic practices.

Justine Schwartz is a California native who wandered East, then Midwest, and eventually resettled in Berkeley, where she lives with her husband and three daughters. Her training in gardening and horticulture began with organic farming through a CSA in Iowa. From there, she worked in Oakland elementary schools, building school gardens and running a garden and nutrition educational program for school kids. She received her training as a horticultural gardener through an internship at the Botanical Gardens at Golden Gate Park. She furthered her education through the Landscape Horticulture program at Merritt College.
